I can’t stop myself from jumping, late, onto the Ikat bandwagon. I love that the design is created by dying either the warp or weft of a weave, such a simple change that creates such a distinct, painterly look. In this month’s Elle Decor I came across one I had never seen before from Brunschwig & Fils called, Bayadere Ikat, seen below in two tonal ranges.
This teal and beige Ikat style is great.
Sadly the only room this works in at my apartment is the bathroom!
This chevron is competing with Rubie Green‘s East Village as my current favorite chevron.
The above almost matches my Dash & Albert carpet – I love a good stripe. As a total aside about this historic company founded ages ago in France as a weaving mill, I also find myself drawn to their typeset – below.
